By joining our guild and/or our Forums, You are AGREEING TO AND STATING that you prepared for gaming before raid time (ex. add-ons, reagents, knowing fights...) and will uphold ALL GI rules. Any violation of our rules, guidelines, or your assignments, is a violation of the spirit of the law (teamwork). Manabind, Edaz and The Council deal with everyone neutrally, honestly and straightforward. WE are here to have FUN PROGRESS and most of all ENJOY each others company as well as accomplishments.
Prepared for gaming means you have all necessary flasks, food, enchants, gems, potions, reagents, gear, and anything else relating to the FULL functioning of your character AND are waiting out front of our current raid objective BEFOREHAND.

Recruit
**The alt rank is specifically for level 80 alts of those who have attained Core Raider rank or higher. Rules for this 1.No one may invite an alt until they attain Core Raider rank on thier main. 2. Generaly only one alt will be allowed to join. For alts that are below 80, we have an Alt Guild currently set up, and a universal chat channel for you to join so that you can keep up with the goings-on in GI. As always, if you have any questions or need anything, just speak with Manabind, Edaz, anyone on the Council, or a Class Leader.
QUICK CODE OF CONDUCT
None of the rules listed here are optional, and by no means does this list cover everything.Practice and utilize common sense! These codes are things that you must agree to and abide by if you wish to join/remain in "Gloriously Inept".
Just two quick notes, NO auto grats macros, NO Chuck Norris jokes.
1. I PROTECT my guild's reputation.
2. I am NOT a troublemaker: I keep the PEACE.
3. No one shall be, say, or do something because I want or like it.
4. I understand everything is an individual CHOICE, 100% of the time.
5. I RESPECT other members and their choices, 100% of the time.
6. I never gank or grief; I always fight with HONOR.
7. I come to guild meetings/raids in control of myself.
8. The more members attending a guild meeting/raid, the more I just LISTEN.
9. Every outsider is an honored GUEST until proven guilty!
10. I take everything in MODERATION.
11. If I am a new GI, I GIVE help before asking for it.
12. I am RELEVANT in guild chat.
13. I know SILENCE is WISDOM sometimes.
14. I know how a GI is PROMOTED - TRUST and giving the INTANGIBLE.
15. It is just a Game, but it takes Time - I respect others TIME.
16. I am always ON-TOPIC in chat channels.
17. If I have problems or complaints, I do not handle it in guild chat; I report my issue directly to Manabind, Edaz or one of the Council/Class Leaders.
18. I know the principles of my code can grow, and will uphold the message of this guild, and the love and respect within it.
19. I have FUN, baby! I...AM...GI...WOOT!
Note: If you are asked to read the GI's Full Code of Conduct in the future, then that is your leaders polite way of telling you that you did or said something against your code. If you ignore the request & keep breaking the code, expect punishment. Repeated offenses affect your image & eligibility for promotion in the guild negatively.
GUILD BANK RULES
The Guild Bank is the place where we store all materials for all professions. All ranks in GI have either direct or indirect access to these materials; all ranks should work on depositing useful items and mats.
** Core Raider rank and above must deposit 100 gold per week.**
The following table lists Guild Bank privileges given to each rank.
1. Recruit allowed no access into the Guild Bank
2. Alt may view and deposit to tabs 1 and 2.
3. Member may view and deposit to tabs 1 and 2 and withdraw 1 item/stack from tab 1.
6. Inept may view and deposit to tabs 1 and 2 and withdraw 1 item/stack from tab 1.
5. Core Raider may view all tabs and deposit to tabs 1 and 2 and withdraw 5 item/stack from tab 1.
6. Class Leader may view all tabs, deposit in tabs 1 and 2, and withdraw 10 items/stacks from tab 1
7. GM, Co-GM, and The Council have unrestricted access to entire bank.
**All ranks deposit in the first two tabs tab only, to help keep things organized and neat.
**All ranks should deposit money to pay to Murphy. If you do not know who Murphy is, google Murphys Law.
**No rank except GM, Co-GM, and The Council can directly withdraw money, however, starting at Core Raider rank and up, we allow GB funds to be used for repairs, these funds are only to cover GUILD RAIDS not PUG of any kind.
Some of the measures we use
ATTENDANCE
We require that those of the Core Raider rank and up attend 100% of the main raids. If you sign up for, and are not going to be able to make an official raid we expect you to give us notice so we can prepare. We understand that life happens, and well, real life is more important than the game. We just ask that our Core Raiders give us notification so we can bring in a replacement and keep the raid going for those that are on.
We also require that Core Raiders and up have provisions and be at, not in, the instance and ready to go no later than 30 minutes before raid time for invites. This is not too much to ask, log out at the instance the night before if you have to. We will not keep an entire raid waiting because one or two people are horsing around in Dalaran, or are always waiting for a Warlock to summon them.
Players not logged in before the time of the raid recieve demerits. Late comers, unless they inform us beforehand, will lose their spot to a guild member that is ready to raid.
ATTITUDE
Is the player badgering other players? Does the person talk too much? Is the player constantly in a sour mood and taking it out on the raid? Is the player ignoring raid leaders? Is the person acting as if they just do not want to be there? This also includes personal grievances between players. If one player has a problem with another, we investigate it. If you are being pissy, you will be called on it.
PERFORMANCE
We do not set hard numbers but we do look at a couple of criteria. 1. Based on others of their class, and current gear, is the player performing well? 2. Is the player prepared with proper gems, enchants, talent spec, etc. 3. Is the player following assignments (heals on target, interrupts to mobs/bosses, the right crowd control going out)? 4. Is the player consistently dying or taking damage for no good reason? 5. Is the player doing anything other than exactly what they are supposed to be doing?
This is a rough sketch but you get the idea. Remember that we are players ourselves and therefore understand if things outside your influence occur (void zone appearing directly under you). We understand there are certain encounters that favor specific classes (ranged vs. melee) and will factor these in when deciding on the performance of a player.
CODE OF CONDUCT SPELLED OUT.
1. Protect your guild's reputation:Never do or say anything that can ruin the image or reputation of Gloriously Inept, so be very mindful of your words & actions, especially in public. Report to Manabind, Edaz or The Council any breaches of this rule by any member(s).
2. Trouble makers have NO place in Gloriously Inept: You cause even one ounce of love or respect to leave this guild, and YOU follow that ounce right out the door. It does not matter how you did that: whether you started an argument and never let go of it or you offended other guild members & never bothered to sort it out or apologize, or you are just being a dick. Bottom-line is this: it does not matter how you do it, if you cause grief, anger, or hate to appear in the guild, or compromise the team spirit, respect, and love among its members, then you are automatically unwelcome in Gloriously Inept. If you break any of the GI's code principles several times, then you need to say a final goodbye to Manabind, Edaz or The Council before choosing to leave the guild yourself. We prefer this to kicking anyone out, but will do so if called upon to.
3. Leave your expectations behind:No one in Gloriously Inept will be what you want or what you think is right, no one will do what you like, and no one is expected to meet any of your expectations. The only obligatory thing in this guild is accepting the principles of the GI's Code & promising to live by them as long as you're a GI. After that, everyone does as they please. Attending guild meetings is nice, even a must if you are seeking to rise up the guild ranks, but you can choose not to attend sometimes. Boosting or helping you would certainly be great, but it is perfectly acceptable not to help you. This works the other way around as well: no one can expect anything from you other than respecting the code. Heck, if you do not feel like talking (and we all need solitude sometimes), you can come and just be silent and go solo adventuring if you want!
4.Everything is an individual choice, 100% of the time:This means that your only obligation in this guild, as one of its members, is to respect the code & follow it. Other than that, you are not obligated to help anyone or attend guild meetings or do anything similar. You have to keep in mind though, that you should not expect help if you are not giving help, and you should not expect to be an important, distinguished, or high-rank member if you are not attending guild meetings and being active. That is all.
5. Respect other members and their choices, 100% of the time:Looking to the previous rule, I hope this one is common sense. So if someone does not want to help you, that has nothing to do with him or her being mean. They are simply using their right & freedom of choice. If someone does not want to attend the guild meeting, then that does not make him or her anti-social. In one word, RESPECT your guildies & their choices all the time.
6. NO ganking or griefing; always fight honorably:Never gank much younger adventurers(kill much weaker or lower-level Horde members). Never kill dishonorably or finish off what a simple NPC mob started, like a low-life opportunist. Defend yourself and fight bravely & in an honorable manner, 100% of the time. Gloriously Inept wants to establish a reputation of honor with Horde, not just with Alliance.
7. Drinking and Code 1: If you drink, then make sure you come to guild meetings sober. If getting drunk will make you break the first code, then never get online drunk. It is better that someone thinks you are a fool, instead of you opening your mouth and proving it.
8. The more members attending a guild meeting or raid, the more you will need to just listen": It is simple math. The guild meeting usually lasts for just 1 hour (60 minutes). If there are six members, each can talk for 10 minutes. However, you will only get 5 minutes if there are 20, 2 minutes if there are 30 members attending, and so on. Simply put, do not speak on Team Speak unless you are the raid leader or are lead speaker.
9. Every outsider is an honored guest of Gloriously Inept until proven guilty: it is simple manners. Whether we are at a guild meeting, standing at a meeting stone for a dungeon, chatting in a small group in the city, playing catch, or dueling, any outsider, non-GI, or stranger is, by definition, an honored guest of Gloriously Inept, until proven guilty. This means that we treat all outsiders as if they are our honored guests, with respect & politeness, unless they themselves start to behave inappropriately. If they do, then please do not interfere or participate in arguments or fights; let the highest guild rank available deal with the situation. REMEMBER YOUR IGNORE FEATURE.
10. Take everything in moderation: Take it easy, and take everything in moderation. Remember that you bought the game & there's money paid monthly, in order for you to have fun. Do not compromise your fun by getting angry or nervous about anything. Unfortunately, bad people, ninjas, and downright jerks will always exist. There is nothing we can do about their existence, however we will try to not make any Gloriously Inept member need outsiders. We hope we will be numerous enough to travel in exclusive GI groups, so we can trust everyone in our party all the time. However, if you happen to party with others, or deal with outsiders, and something bad happens, remember this: take it easy, just move on, better things will come later.
11. If you are a new member, offer help before asking for it: As a new member, do not expect help without first taking the initiative to give help. This should be fair enough. This policy is to protect our resources, including the most precious resource of all: Time, against guild leeches. By guild leeches, we mean people who join any guild to receive help in quests, dungeons, and even items made by guildies, until they reach a high level, and then they leave that guild and join one of the top 10 guilds around. With that said, if you are a "guild leech" find another guild now. Moreover, guess what, we will be one of the top 10 guilds.
12. Be relevant in guild chat: When it comes to guild chat, ask yourself one question before posting: is this anyone else's business? Alternatively, can it be useful or significant to anyone else in a way? If the answer is no, then do not write that in guild chat. The intricately engineered guild chat system is often and mostly for hellos, greetings, productive and beneficial tips, information, observations, questions, and answers. Funny comments or exclamations of happiness or frustration or love or hate are acceptable in guild chat occasionally, and we stress occasionally. However, do not overdo it; be considerate to others' space, time, and attention span. Any joke that you have to use degrading comments about a race or type of person WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in any text channel or Team Speak. Another way to put it is, "Silence is golden! Also, keep your complaints, nagging, whining & cursing off guild chat and redirect them to The Council or Manabind/Edaz. Do not be a stranger either; we actually encourage you to chat often with your guildies by whispering privately or by engaging in any interesting conversations that pop up in guild chat. You are also welcome to prepare any interesting speeches or stories for our weekly guild meetings.
13. Silence is wisdom sometimes: Second rule with "silence" in it. Maybe it is because the main cause of problems in guilds is the effect of what people "say". On the other hand, maybe it is because most "trouble makers" in guilds are those who talk too much, or talk the most. Nevertheless, the point here is if you do not have something nice to say, then do not utter a word. Wait for things to cool down, count down from 10 to 1, leave the whole place for a while, go to sleep, write Manabind/Edaz a letter instead of lashing back and get if off your chest to him...do anything that can help you refrain from saying bad or mean things. Moreover, if you apply this rule to grouping with any party, whether guildies or not, you will not complain in party chat, and thus you're not going to be a pain for others or hurt the team spirit in a party or raid. We hope this sounds wise to you.
14. Method of Promotion: Trust & Give the Intangible: You cannot just buy your way up the ranks. It takes two weeks in guild as recruit to get first promotion, and all promotions will be NO LESS than two weeks apart after that. We appreciate crafted items, gifts, donated gold, but they are NOT enough by themselves. Loving other members as brothers and sisters is the shortcut to promotion. Show that you truly care about your guild and guildies. Help in any way you can, find more good & honorable adventurers and convince them to join us. Show us that you are using your intelligence, skills, talents, and resources to help this guild grow, and prove that you are trustworthy...do any of this or all of this, and your promotion to higher ranks will only be the beginning for you in Gloriously Inept.
15. Respect others time: It is just a Game, but it takes Time! Yes, we understand that "this is just a game", but let us remember that it also consumes the most important real-life resource that we have: Time. Keep this in mind always, all the time; the game takes time. Things can become frustrating and annoying in this game, even though it is just a game, and even though it is supposed to be fun, because it can be time consuming, and you can end up wasting hours of grinding sometimes. Any experienced player knows the feeling and has had the experience. So respect other people's time and be very considerate towards this. It does not matter whether they are Alliance or Horde, guildies or non-guildies, just be considerate to them regarding their time. To give a demonstrative example: Person ABC makes a 10 man raid wait 20 minutes, this is not a loss of 20 minutes, it is a loss of 200 minutes, or a little more than 3 man hours of time....wasted.
16. Be On-Topic in chat channels - use Trade channel to only trade: Do not use the Trade channel for anything other than trading activities (WTSell, WTBuy, enchants, etc). Trade channel is not there for recruiting, not to ask about directions, and definitely not to announce your "ding". This behavior is strictly unacceptable in Gloriously Inept because it gives the guild an unwanted reputation & attracts to it unwanted people. Use Trade channel strictly & exclusively for trade and nothing else.
17. Problems or complaints you report either directly to Manabind, Edaz, or to one of the The Council, NO arguing in any chat channel.
18. This list of codes can grow, to uphold the message of the guild, and the love and respect within it.
19. Keep this a secret: The Gnome King's momma was a snow blower! i.e Have fun!
PUNITITIVE MEASURES
Since we hate DKP systems and their ilk, we follow the De-merit System. For attendance issues we review the monthly numbers and people below the 100% mark are brought to the attention of the raid officers. Each time a Core Raider breaks one of the rules they may receive De-merits, how many depends upon the severity of the situation. We understand that real life happens and of course will not hold unavoidable events against any GI.
Along with the De-merit comes a warning, usually handled in whispers during a break if in raid, or if it is severe enough to warrant it, we will handle it during the encounter. We try to avoid public defamation on Team Speak (but that does not keep us from screaming to get out of the damned void zones when needed). We deal with attitude problems swiftly and on the spot, informing the player that they are in violation of guild rules.
We use a six De-merit system, with penalties being cumulative.
De-merits reset at first raid cycle of each month. A raid cycle consists of a one week lockout period (Tues. - Mon.) during which we have planned raids.
1 De-merit one is considered a warning, think of this as your grace period and do not push it.
2 De-merits you forfeit your NEED'S.
3 De-merits and you forfeit the right to raid for one entire raid cycle (7 days).
4 De-merits and you forfeit the right to raid for a second entire raid cycle (another 7 days).
5 De-merits and you are demoted.
6 De-merits and you are kicked and blacklisted.
**Once you get a De-Merit it will remain for an entire raiding month (four raid cycles). Though you may pull your act together the De-Merit will remain, therefore make sure you have your shit together from the start. You will find most raiding guilds have some form of punitive measures set up. Ours is much more lenient then some, but it works for us because we rely on players acting like adults. If there is a problem or concern, I expect that you will tell Manabind/Edaz and/or a member of The Council. As a GI, you should be able to go to the players in charge and let them know when you feel yourself slipping for whatever reason. Your raid leaders are not psychic and sometimes the only way we know what is going on is when you tell us. We are after all only human in real life so help us help you.
LOOT RULES
Loot will be distributed as follows:
At the beginning of each raid, every player has ONE NEED ; afterwards you must GREED on main spec items until all others of your gear type have used their NEED. NEEDS are not used up if you do not receive the item.
The master looter will post the item and call first for Main Spec NEED/GREED.
The master looter will then post the item and call for Off Spec GREED.
If you are considered Main Spec for that item, you then say in raid channel, MS NEED if it is an upgrade, MS GREED if no one has needed. If no one wants the item for MS, it goes to OS, if no OS it gets DE'd. The loot will be handed out by loot master, YOU WILL follow the loot masters directions, and you WILL NOT question loot master's word, it is final
Essentially the system is:
MAIN SPEC NEED > MAIN SPEC GREED > OFF SPEC GREED
